If your intentions are pure
I am seeking a friend
For the end of the world

When Beatrice Jordan meets the unpredictable Jacob Grace, the two wild souls become instant allies. Together they discover an escape in each other's creativity and insecurities, while running from secrets they cannot seem to shake – or a fate that could throw them to the ground . . .

This 15th Anniversary reissue of Tiffanie DeBartolo's classic love story introduces a new audience of dreamers to a quintessentially real and raw vision of spirit, and inspires everyone to live — and love — as vividly as possible.

I picked up this one after reading an awesome review over at my pal Christy'sLove of Books blog. It began with Beatrice answering an odd personal add, and meeting Jacob. I loved watching their relationship bloom, but I wasn't expecting to be as moved as what I was, to the point as to where my heart shattered and I ugly cried!!

In all honestly I struggled through the first 50% of the book because I'm not used to so much inner dialogue, and being told about everything instead of experiencing it, but I powered through and understood that there was so much to cover in this one book. Boy, was it worth it because by the end I was emotionally invested in Beatrice and Jacob's story.

I loved seeing Beatrice (Trixie as Jacob called her) and Jacob's relationship grow. They were both quirky in their own ways, Beatrice being a jewellery artist and Jacob was a writer. They gelled well together and had more in common than they realised, especially father issues. Although their connection was immediate, it was sweet to see how they always wanted to be together. They had their struggles, and worked together through most of them, but there were times that weren't so simple.

Even though this book was written 15 years ago, I think it was still beautifully written. The author draws the reader into the story so that you connect to the main characters and she also created a cast of secondary characters that continued to flesh out the story. It was quite the journey, experiencing Beatrice and Jacob's whirl wind love affair, but I always had that sense of impending doom, though... You really need to get this one and experience it for yourself!!

*** Swoon Thursday was first bought to us by YA Bound. Since they are no longer with us, and with permission from Trisha Wolfe, I have decided that those of us that love to swoon need a central meet up point.  So here it is ladies! I have a link up for everyone at the bottom of the post you can add your swoons to, and I’ll set it up every week! So tell all other swooners out there to come on over, link up so we can visit each other! ***

I have three short quotes that I picked from the book, because they were moments that made an impact on me! Enjoy!

I took a step toward him, to let him know that anything he wanted to do was okay by me. He looked up, leaned in, touched his forehead to mine, and kissed me.
His lips were full and soft and he tasted like coffee.

“I know it’s late but”—he paused—“ would it be all right if I came over?”
“Right now?”
“Yeah.”
“Jacob,” I said, “how long have you been waiting to ask me that?”
“Who knows?” he said, more to himself than to me. “Maybe all my life.”

We’re all searching for something to fill up what I like to call that big, God-shaped hole in our souls.
